Yes, but not right away - food stamps expire after 9 months if you don't use them in most states.
Benefits also roll over from month to month: for example, you don't need to need all your July benefits during July. It's fine to use them the next month, or even a few months later.
What if my case gets discontinued? #
If your benefits end, anything you have not spent will still be on your card, and you can still use those benefits, even after your case is discontinued. This is because the benefits were given to you when you were eligible, and it's up to you when you use them.
